I'm not too sure what it could be, but its recently been happening.
I start the computer and it loads up, then it suddenly turns off (but doesn't go through the Shutting Down procedure). It also just happens randomly while I'm on and its, obviously, starting to bug me.
Any ideas how I can stop it?

I'm no expert with this, but have you checked the mains plug-in? It could be loose and you could be knocking it or something so it's stopping the power?

I can't think of anything else, unless you have a virus.
Scan your PC incase.

I will, thanks.
Btw, i dunno if i mentioned, but when i click the on button it doesn't start up - i need to take out the plug/socket and then put it back in before it starts again.

Something similar happened to me, check the mains where your computer is plugged in. I had a dodgey fuse it may be the same for you, have a look.

I'm feeling as though it was probably the fan - i haven't cleaned the inside of the pc for 3 years (thats how old it is) and we got a new carpet about a year ago, so it could be a load of carpet fluff lol

First off, do you kick your computer? if so then you probably have a broken internal component.

Whats all this talk about a bad fan? You mean the power supply? If you think there is a problen with its fan then first Print out these instructions if you can't open this thread on another pc, then shut your computer down, next unplug the power cord from your pc then (I hope you have a canister vacuum) get your vacuum and put the hose up to the grate for the fan and vacuum out all the gunk in there, also vacuum the place where the power cord attaches, then turn your pc on and that should fix any power supply fan problems, unless the fan motor is busted.

Goodluck

Spoiler for Everything else:

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.
If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.
