What are the best World War II Based Shooter?

IMHO I think the best are as follows:

1. Call of duty (1 or 2, basically the same...only the graphicality and LOD in 2 is better.)
2.Battlefield 1942
3. uhh....Medal of Honor: Allied Assault?

I need to buy one so tell me which you think is best.

NO CAll of duty has better LOD and grpahics

Day of defeat is the best shooter for ww2 hands down, best graphics and game play. It runs on a source engine so you will need a internet connection.I would recommend this game to anyone who loves ww2 shooters.

-Quake 4
-Fear
-Doom 3
-Battle Field 2142
-Day of Defeat
-Far Cry

Or if you don't like games with good Multiplayer, take one with a bad multi: CoD.

DoD > CoD though. ^^

F.E.A.R.
Prey
Half-Life 2
CS:S
Battlefield 2 Special Forces
And soon coming out: Crysis.

I'd go with DoD: Source the best game ever made and the graphics rock...Or go with CoD, cause it has Russians,Germans,British,Americans, also has a good variety of maps all around europe, get CoD 2 if you want maps round europe. My XFIRE is Beatles219.

I would get Call of Duty 1 to start out. Once you beat that get the second! Followed by any expansions. All I can say...
