Intel says 80 cores in 5 years.

Processor maker Intel has pledged to be shipping 80-core processors in just 5 years.

Just think: most processors nowadays have 1 core. Some good processors like the AMD Athlon X2 and FX have two cores. The playstation 3 Cell processor has 9 cores. This one will have nearly nine times the number of cores as the PS3 CPU.

Personally, i dont want one, but that is because i am very biased towards AMD. Hopefully AMD will bring out something equally as good. It was AMD who first developed dual-cores on the x86 platform, after all.

Uh you need no more than 4 anyway, 1 is good enough tbh. 80 is just stupid.
Intel are crap regardless. AMD Ftw.

What on god's green earth would you need 80 cores for, and they're probably exaggerating a huge amount. 5 years my ****.

Actually, i believe them on 5 years. Computers move quickly.

But AMD still pwn.

I want freaking wait, think of the games we could run, and have likea billion other programms running at teh same time O.o
