There have been many of these threads.

*yawn*

Its getting boring now, but i'll make my point while im here.

Firefox sucks, but not as much as IE. Opera is the fastest browser on every platform, FACT; Opera is browser with the best security track record, FACT; Opera is the browser with the largest number of features out-of-the-box, FACT.

*yawn again*

Yes, i know 'Firefox' is a better name than 'Opera'. But Opera is a far better, faster, more secure browser.

Firefox has a memory leak, is bloated, and will use 80% of your processor power if you try and restrict its ram cache. I have a friend who knows loads about programming, and he looked through the Firefox source code and said something along the lines of:

'Holy sh*t, making something this bad is hard'

Here's another nice fact, Opera technology is going to be used in the soon-to-be-released internet browser on the nintendo ds/lite.

I'm going to check it out, but as of -right- now I use Firefox.

I have used FF2.

I have also used FF3.

They were both about the same as FF 1.5... slow, bloated, resource hogs. In fact, bigger resource hogs than FF 1.5. And there's no real difference in features...

Thank you for that interesting fact about Opera, anubis, i forgot about that. It has actually already been released in Japan.

Here's the link to FF2: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/bonecho/all-beta.html

And the link to FF3: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... est-trunk/ (download firefox-3.0a1.en-US.win32.installer.exe if you're on windows.)

-

An interesting question for you FF lovers: Why did you switch from Internet Explorer?

I use FireFox because I like the tabs, and when I first d/led it I only knew about IE and FF.

Other than that I'm completely in love with the skin I have for it ^^

I chose other, as I use Internet Explorer, which is not known as Crapernet Explorer, or any other names you people have. It does what I need it to do, and no fancy crap. Simple.

It may do what you want it to do, but...

...does it block pop-ups? No.
...does it comply to web standards? No.
...does it pass the Acid2 test? No.
...does it support CSS 2? No.
...does it support CSS 3? No.
...does the person who invented CSS work for the company that makes it? No.
...does it have tabbed browsing? No.
...does it have a built-in IRC client? No.
...does it work with efficiency and speed? No.
...does it have a built-in newsfeed reader? No.
...does it have widgets or extensions? No.
...can you skin it? No.
...does it have a built-in download manager? No.

...can it run harmful activeX script that could potentially delete the entire contents of your hard drive? Yes.
...does it have the worst security track record of any browser in the world? Yes.
...is it made by Microsuck? Yes.
...does it use way too much RAM and CPU power relative to the number of features it has? Yes.
...is it slow, laggy and rubbish? Yes.

If you reverse all of the answers to those questions, you have Opera. Yes, the person who thought up the idea of CSS does work for Opera, which is probably why Opera is so standards compliant.

There was a reason lord zammorak called it Crapernet explorer. And that, is because its Crap.
