To me advancing your skills is basically having time and clicking over and over. It doesn't really take much skill to advance a skill. Once you obtain your materials, which most people just buy, its just a matter of clicking the items together to make something or clicking attack on a monster.
Some skills take planning and organization, but most of them can be done with just merely clicking your mouse on items.
Pking is what takes real skill. You can't just go and join a clan and follow people around in the wild and say you are pking. If you always come up with no kills and a lot of deaths after a war or pk run in, you don't have the skill of pking. You have to know what you are doing if you are going to go out there and get some kills.
Castle wars is similar in a way. You have to have a fair idea of the combat part of the game to get some kills, but castle wars is a lot easier because of the wide level range. I don't play castle wars too often, but when I do sometimes I see people doing things that is just not needed. For example, level 100+ people just running around killing people 50 and below for the fun of an easy and unskilled kill. While they don't even pay attention to the flag at all.
In some of my previous clans people have said on their applications that they think they could make a good pker because they get kills in castle wars a lot. When I read that, the first thing that pops into my mind is what I just explained about high levels going for the low levels. It takes no skill at all.
My point being that it takes skill if you want to have a successful pk career. You can't just go out there and think you are going to be able to take out anyone that is lower level then you.
I guess barrows and fight caves take some skill also. You need to plan your fight so you don't get beaten.
Btw, grats on the win Creepy.
