RS diary forum

I sorta stole this but I'm claiming it as my idea so go away if you've seen this on a certain other place.

Anyway i actually thought it was a good idea. Shane, shush, i know we might be getting blogs or whatever..but this is much easier, much more convenient and much more interesting. Those blogs would be used more for rl stuff anyway.

Anyway my idea is to create a new forum, where everyone can create a topic for there everyday rs life. Sorta like a blog but for RS.

Post count will be disabled and there free to post as many times in a row as they like, they can update it whenever they want..sorta like a record of all the things going on for people to just look at whenever there bored or the person themselves to look back on a year down the line and go "woah, i forgot about that."

They're allowed one single topic and are not allowed to create anymore, people are free to post on other topics of course all the rules apply, no spamming, nothing like that.

We'll probably need to put in a few rules but i believe it will be easily controllable, if they fail to follow the rules we lock there topic and there not allowed a new one for a set amount of time, it should be easy to control.

I just thought it was a cool idea and we've got a lot of keen writers here, I'm sure they'd like to write about there everyday RS adventures.

dam you lvl quick, good idea creeps although it would be a huge flooded forum for all the members (if) they did post here.

i like the idea, but soem things i would change.... only you can post in your topic/diary. and i can just see bumbs getting out of hand.

Bumps wont be allowed, why would you bump up an old diary that you aren't updating..unless you're updating it, lol. If they continuly do it for some odd reason, we lock there topic for awhile till they learn there lesson.

And er we can't control where they post, look at any posts as comments..like you'd get with a blog.

Why not it'll be interesting to see some ofn the stuff you've made through runescape i.e. quests, glitches, well known players, duels, pks etc etc. But it's all down to you if diary/blogs aren't your thing.

As for the main idea I strongly agree with it, I've thought of something similar but nowhere as good as you've described. Although there is a forums for the main purpose of being shared and these may be known as Hall O' Fame and RS related media (maybe also others), but it could be better to actually string out what you have achieved and what has improved.

Well I've read what you wrote so hope this can be done but if we do receive our own blogs I just wonder what type of people will receive them

We said their would be no more code changes... this wouldn't involve code changes, just adding a new forum.

i think its a great idea but it might need to be made clear that wat evr goes in there will be able for evryone else to see not just yourself

What would be cool is that once phpBB3 comes we can add personal blogs to everyone profile. There's a MOD for this in phpBB2 but I'm sure it will be ported over. If we can have that I'd be shane and mike's bestest best friend.

Putting it in people's profiles wouldn't really get as many people to see it, though.

Ok let's take for example reading some one else's diary.
Hello my name is Jack and I play RS. For the next months I want to achieve 99 fishing. My fishing is 1 right now. Today I strated fishing. I am fishing and fishing and fishing, then I got a random event a troll, got 10gp. Then I was fishing and fishing and fishing. *2 months later* Finally once I achieved my 99 fishing I want to achieve more insane goal 99 farming, a lot of redaing here. I went to my crops, I planted them, watered them, and so on and so on. Trust me most of the diaries gonna be like this and most of the people wont even bother writing a paragraph here.
