IP help

Ok, as many of you know I go thacked. Well I sent in a query to jagex asking fo rthe last 10 IP's of the ppl who logged in to my account. If they give me them, how can I track the person using there IP?

i wish i could help but i only know one method only getting ip address while chatting with someone one msn or yahoo to do this go to command promt and type in netstat -n you should get ip addressed conencted to you remember close all internet windows or you wont be able to get the ip but in order to trace ip am not sure how to do it but FBI can do that so no idea try google search i heard there are some programs that can do that.

It's highly unlikely that they will give you the IP

They didn't when I was hacked two years ago. So the odds are they havn't changed their ways about giving IP's out.

But if you did there's lots of things you could do. The best would be to do a whois lookup on the IP then report it to the ISP. But then again we have the situation in which to a big ISP like comcast in the US, Verizon down there, or Shaw or Telus in Canada they most likely won't have time to pursue a problem from an online game unless it was something illegal in real life like identity theft.

To do a whois lookup if you did get the ip you could go to http://www.dnsstuff.com if you want to know more please feel free to private message me.

To be honest, they cant give out ips unless they have that persons permission. Id be like calling a buisness asking for a certain employees home phone number. Unless that employee said its ok to give it out, they are legally bounded to not give it out unless forced to by authorities

Yeah but they got onto my account without my permission. It's like asking you phone company what were th alast 10 calls you made.

If you do get the ip you can go to http://ws.arin.net/cgi-bin/whois.pl and enter the ip and you will see which isp it belongs to. You can also do tracert in the command prompt,

Code:

tracert ip.ad.dr.ess

then you can look at the last server to see which isp owns the ip.
