Was runescape useing my account?

Ok, I was making bowstrings in seers, when my friend PMed me that he had found a hillarious game glitch. So, being the stupid no-brained person that I am, I went to where he was and asked for him to show me what the glitch was (Yea, shame on me [-X

). We went to the warriors guild and he showed me how to be able to walk like a drunk person for an indefinate time( I wont say how I did this BTW :-#

). Well we decided then we'd go to faldor and act like drunkards for a while. We get there, act like a couple of fools for 30 seconds, then we BOTH lose connection and are kicked off the world. I tryed to logg back in, but it said : "Your account is already logged in. Please try again ig 60 seconds." So i try again, and again, and again... Nothing works, same message pops up. Here I am, desperatly trying to logg back on, praying that I havent hit by a random and died or have been hacked. After changeing my pass and about an hour later, I'm finnally able logged on. And what do I see? Im back at the warriors guild... WTH? How did I get there? Was Jagex messing with my account cause I found a bug? Or did they just re-set my character :-s

? Does anyone know what the heck happened?

Well since it was a glitch, it probally got messed up and you appeared at the place where you started using the glitch. Jagex doesn't mess with people's acounts at all.

I started "useing the glitch" INSIDE of the warriors guild, not at the doorstep.

You can consider yourself as lucky. I mean, you could have been stuck there forever... I'm glad everything is Ok now, but you've learned that you shouldn't try the glitch's. Btw, I know you're intelligent enough so you won't do that again

But I dont understand why its a bad glitch. Its funny actually. If runescape made a beer that made you walk like that, everyone would want some.

True, nonetheless it is a bug and you cannot abuse them. You probably lost connection with the server and it lost memory of anything you did from the time you stepped out the warriors guild.

I don't know though, that's just a guess.

I didnt logg off, it kicked me off. And runescape dosent forget stuff about characters, otherwords we'd have lots of people complaining about re-sets.

EDIT: Eh, Im loggin off for the day. You guys can talk about this if you want or lock it, I just started it to see if a thing like this has happened to anyone else or if they know what happened.

I'm a Software Engineer, and let me tell you, in programs this big, you could test for years and not find every bug. It's a matter of finding a balance between time and completeness. If they dropped to only updating every other week it might help with that kind of stuff, but at the same time, it's next to impossible to predict what will happen with so many different people doing so many different things.

Well I don't know exactly what happened to you, but I do know that just yesterday I was fighting Trolls and I suddenly logged off----in the middle of the battle!

I tried to log back in, but the game told me that my account was already logged in, I figured it wouldn't log the character off until ten seconds following when it was finished fighting as usual.

I finally got back on after about 30 seconds, in the same spot but I do remember having a few hitpoints less than when I was last logged in.

Hmm..maybe a few servers have boots too big for their feet and enjoy randomly kicking people from them.

The best way to find bugs is let half a million people test the program. Thats what jagex does.
