Yeah.. im giving up fractal art

Why?

Because I want to be well known.

I reckon you guys will want an explanation - "You can be well known for doing fractals!"

There is no doubt, some people are well known for their "amzing fractal patterns" and so on, however without *understanding* all the complicated formulae that actuall create fractals, and then *creating* more formulae to do so, I feel that;

1) I am cheating fractal art. By using a program and, as one of my friends has rightly said, fiddled around with triangles to create a mess which looks pretty.

2) I Do not understand enough to continue creating fractals. I am not getting better, I am simply making more lines of colour in the same way I did when I created [url=[link] as my first.

Another main reason, is that unless I -can- create things which compare to [url=[link] I'm not going to be well known. People arent typically impressed by fractals, unfortunetely.

I have enjoyed Fractal Art, but I think its time for me to quit it. As I've said, I'm not going anywhere continuing with it.

So I am now retiring from Fractal Art until I understand the process fully. I'm getting back into Digital Art and you should be seeing a new wallpaper featuring an emblem of Endymia quite soon!

I dont think you should, in a way.

True, a piece of art containing only a fractal doesnt really amaze.

But a piece of art containing brushing and photomanip and loads of other stuff, as well as a fractal, does amaze.

Integrate fractals, dont make art from only fractals.

Most of the sigs i make have a fractal in. The one im using at the moment doesnt, but i think it is one of about 5 in 5 months that hasnt.

Why get a 99 quickly when you can enjoy the skill for a longer time and make a lot of money in the process?

I made a tutorial which got a lot of people started on fractals. Its found in the tutorial thread.

You see, I strive for perfection, and after a couple of months of working with fractals and not being able to improve at all. I've decided to quit, I dont want to stay at the same level of skill.

I do use fractals in other peices, which isnt what I class as Fractal Art, so, If I feel it necessary, I will still make fractals for use in other styes of art.

I will miss the art anubis. You, actually, are the reason I started Fractal art. Since I started I have made 17 outstanding designs (so I have heard), and people are starting to want them as posters, and because of that I am starting a small buisness with them. I thank you much for your help with fractals, and I will miss your art. If you want to know more about fractals, feel free to ask, as I have studied them mathematically.

Well then, good luck with whatever you'll decide to start doing.

Get into abstract art. You could also incorporate fractuals into your stuff for an added effect :)

I don't think anyone can really "retire" from a certain type of art. You never know, one day you might just feel like making a fractal.

I could say that about runescape. "no-one can really retire from runescape because you might just feel like playing again one day". ^o)

I mean I wont be submitting any more fractals publically. I will most likely make more for my personal wallpapers though.
