But I'm sure he has gotten permission by Jagex to do so. I mean he plays it and wouldn't ya think they would of banned his IP and stuff from the site for using an "un-official" client of RS.

Or MQ are you saying it ok? because I'm a little confused

I'm confident enough to say that Jagex would never ban any SS user because there is no method I can think of where they can detect who is using SS and who is not.

I'll say this again..the reason why Jagex recommends against 3rd party clients is because people will make them install keyloggers OR will provide unfair advantages (autospeaker, macro abilities). Seeing as though SS does not do any of this and it no longer blocks ads, it's not what Jagex is referring to when it recommends against using 3rd party software.

Yah there was this huge contreversy about SS having a keylogger in it...and one time I really think it did because I bought Zammy Pl8, Zammy Kite, D med, and D legs a long time ago when they were pretty expensive and the day later I got hacked and I was using SS. So I got pretty suspicious and stopped using it. But now I use it again and its all good.

even if it's just a new look on the same java applet, it's still a custom client that houses that applet.

not trying to start an arguement, just stating the facts as they are written.
and jagex will always dodge around the issue if u send a cs query to them on it so no real point in debating it further.

side note: everything useful that is inside the same window as the game with ss(highscores, calc's, etc...) can be opened up alongside the normal game client if ur screen resolution is set at 1600x1200 or higher.

edit: resolution numbers backwards...

How many people do you know that have 1200x1600 screen resolution? :roll:

I'm also not seeing your logic about how "housing" a Java applet in a programme is somehow altering the game's fairness or reverse-engineering it.

i use swiftswitch, have done since its early releases, find its a superb client, especially with all its extra features. Wouldnt use anything else while its still around

I don't use SwiftSwitch. I have a feeling that the Jagex Team, who are more then capable of making a browser with the same features and such, are not doing it for a peculiar reason.

I don't use Swiftswitch because of the following logic:

I'd be downloading a foreign program to play runescape with and entering my pass in that screen.

Besides, whether Jagex has clearly stated it or not, I doubt they'd want people using foreign programs to play their game.

Either way I play the normal version, is SS faster?
