heh, what a great article.
my parents ridicule me for playing dispite the fact that my grades are all pretty good..
perhaps, after reading a professional report, they will let me play regularly again, because for some reason they "banned" me from it.
(i have to sneak on when they are not home. :twisted:

Another thing that annoys me is that my parents always think I'm playing games when I'm doing some stuff in Photoshop or browsing forums. They have no idea the life of an extra-ordinary teenager... I can't exactly say I'm that average. :wink:

Yeah same with and they always say that they were a teenager once and they remember what it was like but actually...they have NO clue

My parents don't like RS much either. I showed my mom this article and she was just like "A water fall on a game? Please" and gave the computer back to me. :S Ohnoes.

I still think if they tried it they'd like it. They definitely not let my brothers play once they saw all the rulebreaking going on.

Wow, I never expected the BBC to promote RuneScape.

My parents have never said it but I'm pretty sure they think it and try to drop as many hints as possible about it.

In the end, if your parents payed for the computer youre using and the net youre using then ultimately they can control what you do on it and how often. That being said, no one wants a Terry for a parent.

Mine always complain about how often Im on, as long as you put real life before anything else it shouldnt matter what you spend your free time doing. Articles like this just prove that.

My dad doesn't know what RuneScape is.
He doesn't speak english either so he can't read that article.
But my dad appears to like it when I play it.
Some people who come to muy house comment my gaming.
Then my dad get's mad.

I actually figured that was the case a while ago before I read this article. My parents actually like how I would prefer Runescape over those first-person shoot-em-ups because the entire basis behind the actual game Runescape is not all about killing, but actually living your own Runescape life and taking the time to perform tasks and such in order to make a profit and carry out your Runescape goals.

Also, like the article says, I feel more confident speaking to other people whose identities are hidden behind the characters they appear as. It's simply one of those cases where you can give everyone a chance to feel part of the world and become more confident in socialization with other people because they don't know who you are and you can practically say whatever you feel like. However, I am thankful that there are censors and limitations to the actual content someone can say, so that way I can feel a lot more safe on the comments and accusations someone may have of me that I will realize. If someone feels a certain way about me off-line, that's fine by me. It's a free world after all.

And as a post-script, it's spelled 'Baxtorian Waterfall'.
