Well, you would be able to write much longer messages to people and could send them when they are offline.

and it could look like this:

that's also in my fakes gallery.

But it's against Jagex rules to ask for the details so it might be a problem. Obviously you should be able to filter the messages to "friends" or whatever.

Edit: W00t 150 posts.

Maybe...

Maybe if it was heavily filtered - i.e.

- You can only send messages to people who are on your friendslist AND you are on theirs.

- Words such as hack, password, scam, etc will cause the message to be "unable to send".

I'm not sure, this is what private chat is for isn't it? just seems unnecessary in my opinion.

I think it would be good if the other person was offline and you needed to tell them something.

or if you wanted to send the a message which;

- Wouldnt fit in the cat box
- Would be useful to keep (in some sort of inbox)

i think this would be a good idea, because what if you need to tell your friend somethin, who is offline.....i would end up forgetting by the time he logged back in...

In the grand scheme of the game, that's not really a big issue, and there are to many questions, to many "if this happens it will work", "If this is like this, it will work", i just say good idea, but impractical.

I think it would be a great idea but not as a way of communication when online. Just when you came on you could have a box saying 'You have 3 unread messages' and if you clicked it sent you to another window rather than using up more runescape space. And the game isn't really about chatting.

Could work but I would make it a website feature rather than an ingame one. Your player message inbox would be kept separate from the staff message inbox to prevent scamming.

There are so many pros and cons to this idea I will simply make one statement--it's a thought.
