Jagex, theves?

I have noticed that Jagex uses a lot of 'things' from other video games like he sly cooper fall (agility pyramid) and "all your base are belong to us" (zero wing). What are your views on this? Are there any more that I missed? Do you think this topic is S.P.A.M.? Are the things stupid? What?

Every video game since the beginning of time has taken at least ONE idea from another game/movie/candy wrapper they find on the ground.

They make up for it with the 7 trillion original ideas that they geniously came up with.

My view: I have to agree with Robbie, every game ever (or 99%) copy at least one idea from another game. If it works, why not use it? This is legal because ideas aren't copyrighted, plus the more ideas they have, the more they can add. Of course they won't put the same thing in, but they'll take the idea and make it their own, it's reality, it just happens.

Any thing you missed: I can only think of the Robin Hood character in the Ghost Port for some reason..

Do I think your topic is spam: Maybe a little.

Are they stupid: No, you can't have someone make a game and expect everything in it to be original. Why would that be stupid?

Its not a big deal. I don't think all the games will copyright every little thing they put in their game. Jagex has taken from games and other games have taken from Jagex. Not a big deal. :wink:

Makes the game better wth the fact they stole those ideas. Look at jagexs original ideas aka farming, talking to cats. That was a useless load of rubbish

I agree. Originality sucks.

We already know what we like, and Jagex will probably know what kinds of things we like, so they use it to their advantage.

And anyways... its not as though theyre ripping off some recent mega game is it?

I don't know if I'd call them useless. Cat speak is used for two quests, and growing herbs is cheaper and more fun than buying them.

And uh..killing chaos druids is cheaper and faster than growing them.

Jagex can do anything they want as long as it isnt exactly like the orginal idea

and all your base are belong to us is so old that everyone uses it.
