How many over 60s do you know who play runescape? I think if everyone puts that as joke they'll get suspicious and perhaps cancel the whole age thing.

The only reason put 60+ in the age survey is so that jagex doesn't miss anyone out. The second thing is... Okay we all know it already... Thoes ads based on adult content are just for extra cash.

But I think it makes no difference to me because the ads were always jammed, messed up or however you want to put it.

As for the updates. Well I don't know wat pot jagex are on but most of their "corney" updates are only based on newbies of p2p.

And we all hate the "new slayer monster" updates

Someone told me awhile back that their sister was dating a guy that worked for Jagex and he said that they were going to come out with a Runescape 3 in 2006 and that everyone would have to start over and total levels for stats would be 150 and that members would be 10$-15$. I doubt much of this is true, but the increasing member fee could happen if Jagex does get too greedy.

i think JAGEX need only money... long ago they were like us... wanted to play... get more good updates and so on
but now... They opened a shop, dont give so much updates and so on... whats happening with them

I think they are doing it just so they can bug us with as many ads as they can, with no *too* innapropriate ones but ones that aren't suitable for little kids, hence asking for the age, just for more money.

Yeah you told me that one day.

Jagex could just bump up the membership fee if the ads don't work. So henceforth they're trying to get ages from all the new accounts just so they can get more ads out and better cash. It could be possible they are in a depression now and need extra cash without having to increase the fees.

But at any given point, they could bump up the fee. Who knows.

do u seriously tink that they would?.. i think that would lose so many ppl cause i mean all of the ppl who spent over 3-5 years getting there stats 2 99 and gettin like 50m would be so mad and probably quit or somtin?...thats my thought.. i wouldnt play if i had to start over...

If jagex bumped up the membership cost, I'd quit. Until there was something decent enough to pay £10 for anyway *-)

IF there is to be an RS3, I highly doubt we would need to start over. If we did, I reckon RS3 would fail. Who wants to start over anyway? You could just create another account.

yea, they are trying to get a better idea of the age range of their players, partly for their corporate site info and part for the ads. however like the last time they checked on this thru the polls most likely half the people making new accounts wont be honest in what they answer with.

jagex already knows the basic age ranges of it's players, this will merely help keep that information up to date for them, since the poll was what a year or so ago now.

as for the inappropriate ads, i've already mentioned how to take care of those before, tho looks like not many peeps really care to get rid of certain ones they like a lil to much. :roll:

IMO JAGeX Ltd. is just getting greedy, and ever since they affiliated with Miniclip, far more users have joined, myself included. If they ask for your age, its probably just so they know what ads to use, and those ads make sense considering there are people like Enkidutorix saying they're 60+, think about it, if your 60, what ads do you want? (in general)...Then again....How many 60+ year olds play rs? LOL

Oh, and Enkidutorix, are all those msn emotes on your comp? Or is that just some websites ip?

If they made a new runescape and we had to start over I dont think I would bother. They'd lose a lot of their older more dedicated members too.
