Just this morning, I pulled an awesome thing to get a noob to stop following me 8). I was wearing white knight armor in f2p, and a noob was following me asking how I got it. So I told him to do black knight's fortress, and then kill 2k black knights, and he ran off saying "kool". I laughed so hard.
But anyway, back to the topic. I think that is a good idea, and it wouldn't be very hard for jagex to add it into the game.

But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols

good idea, i always hate random noob events like:
- random noobs following you
- random noobs trading you
- noobs who are standing still at your training spot for like 10 minutes doing nothing and when u are walking towards a creature to attack it, they attack it -.-

it's a cool idea, but id prefer a surface to noob missile, which you can activate by clicking a button. it would send the noob back 10 spaces :) and cancel following.

I think that is great idea but it kind of conflicts with PKing in the Wilderness. Many people depend on the follow option in the chase to kill players and making it so that PKers can't follow you puts them at a large disadvantage. I'd say it would work if the choice to turn off follow was available everywhere except in the Wilderness in order to presere the fair play for both sides.

Also, I find that moving towards the Wilderness tends to scare off "noobs" from following you. If there is an unfortunate case that still follow you, just take them into the Wilderness and get a lower level friend to kill them, or better yet, kill them yourself! One time when I was playing on my pure warrior account that had a combat level of 40, a "noob" with a combat level somewhere in the twenties started following me begging for free items and money. I warned him not to follow me and proceeded to head towards the Wilderness. Seeing that he kept following and no one attacked him, I took him to about level 20 in the Wilderness and went ahead and slaughtered him on the spot, and that was the last that I ever heard on him.

I think it's a good idea, because there are some people who are just annoying!

Anyone who wants this change should send in the suggestion to the "Comment on our Service" thing, then Jagex will more likely notice it (You know, more suggestions of the same thing make it more noticable) and maybe they'll actually do it!

not a bad idea but if the noob starts to follow you in like lumbrige... and you need to go to drainor... than you need to go to other side to kill that noob and go to draynor lol

To be honest, I think this is the farthest the suggestion is ever going to get. Don't get me wrong, it is a good idea because I too have my share of "noobs" following me around, but think about what tendencies we have seen from JAGeX. There is no doubt that each of us has reported a scammer one time or another, and I'm sure most of us have reported more than one. Yet, how often is it that JAGeX takes action in dealing with these scammers? Lets face it, if JAGeX is unable to eliminate the relatively small amount of scammers compared to the general population of RuneScape, how can they hope to affect a population that is probably at least ten-fold that of the scammer population?

I know that many people have hopes that their suggestions will become a reality in the game, but if JAGeX is unable to control such an important issue as scamming, then how can we expect them to take action on the less major things?

Plus if you think about it, If the mature community of high level players in RuneScape, which is a relatively small number compared to the total number or players, complains to JAGeX about the "noob" situation, think about how many more people would complain about not receiving help from an ignoring community, or worse yet, think of all the people who will quit. I too was among those which I consider to be "noobish", asking simple questions that probably anyone else with experience in the game could answer. Yet, if I hadn't received help from those more experienced, I wouldn't have grown to be the mature player I am today. Many of these new players simply don't know better so I think they still deserve a chance to try and get to know the game better before being shunned by all the high level players.

If anyone really takes the time to analyze all the different players of RuneScape, you would notice that while most people categorize "noobs" as low levels who just don't get it, there are still those low levels who truly want to learn and advance in the game, as there are also high level players who are still as immature as the day they started.

This follow option is a good idea, yes, but we shouldn't get carried away with it to the point where we start drastically affecting the RuneScape community. We have to keep in mind that many of us were like these "noobs" at one point or another and that everyone deserves a chance to learn and receive help.
