This could be bad...
If Jagex is asking us our age.. then they are thinking on focussing their market (i.e. players of runescape) to a particualar age group. This could affect the entire game.
For example, if 75% of the players of runescape are 12 years and younger, Jagex could change the game/ads etc to make it more suitable for 12 year olds. This could make the game too easy..
However, if 75% of the players are 60+, then the game will change dramatically to become harder.
My opinion?
Jagex has released mobile phone wallpapers ringtones etc. Posters and more merchandise for players to buy. This may turn into a large source of money.
Jagex is now asking us our age. From what I understand this is market research, they are trying to attract more of one type of person. This doesnt mean others cant play, but it will make the game much more attractive to a certain group. = more money.
Why?
Jagex is either running short on cash. Possibly due to a dramatic rise in the number of players and extra server costs. Perhaps, not enough players are members to fund over 100 servers, not to mention the extra employees needed to deal with customers.
Jagex, to me, seems to be rushing things. Short, boring quests, one new slayer monster. They have got to have something bigger on their minds. Money perhaps?
Or.. Jagex is just getting greedy...
Looking at the Part about the 60+...
They would have to make it easier to avoid giving them heart attacks when the rock golems appear.....
