Runescape is supposed to be a nice fun and clean game. We all know why jagex added censors (******) is so people can't use bad language. The thing is some times when I type in a message I get unnecessary censoring. There was even once when i had to type "n00b" and they censored that too. I'm sure at least once you had the same problem and you wondered "why did that happen!?"

What do you think jagex should do about it?

I'd like to know just what is a 'vitu'. I tried to type 'groovitude' but it filtered that part of it.

It'd be impossible to make a perfect censor and its better to be on the safe side. Yeah it does stink that sometimes it messes up, but its just something we have to live with

I think for one weeks update Jagex should work on individual filters, I do believe that they have filters loosely based on a word so anything simular to it will be censored.

I hate it when I say...

- 1k until lv 81 atk!

The censor is for immature people who think that 'bad' words are actually offensive -.- I mean, come on... even swear words, there are non-swear words that mean the same thing, people dont get offended by those...

I continue to laugh at the fact you can't say "fart"... That's immaturity on Jagex's part if they think ANYONE would be offended by that pittance of a word.

Oh and the good times when "ball" or "balls" whichever, was censored meant crafters usually didn't buy string then =P

Maybe it's their programmed system jagex use but yes you are right and this is why jagex should check it out! Imagine a player admin actually got censored by accident; that will be the time when loads of player reach towards the report abuse...

That's to stop scammer from saying "R00nsc4p3 bl0k5 j00r p4ssw0rd1!!"

But yeah, I agree they need to double check that censoring, selling stuff can get really annoying sometimes

I used to play UO several years ago. They had a seperate filter option allowing a parental censoring. If you wanted bad language bleeped out when someone was speaking then you wouldn't be able to read it. But you had the option of blocking it or not and you could change the setting at any time yourself.

Jagex should incorporate this into their program.

Okay, I hate it especially for one thing.

"Okay, I'm 4k exp away from Slayer level and 1k from HP level."

Now, type that in Runescape and you'll get:

"Okay, I'm 4k exp away from Slayer level an*** from HP level."

I hate it when it does that! :x :x :x :x
