come take a look. the ocean is very nice. too bad it would take a super computer from another galaxy to run well.

I dunno, Crysis 2 runs with the same engine, but an earlier version, and it runs fine on my computer. It would probably take a ~$200 or so graphics card to max out all settings at 1080p, which honestly isn't terrible.

With that being said, it does look **** good. I'm not sure how great the facial features will be mapped during speech, but the quality of the faces is on-par if not even a bit more detailed than L.A. Noire. To me, that has the best facial-graphics of any game as of yet. That's due to them doing 3D mapping of the actors faces during creation, which is worth mentioning when I'm comparing it vs this new engine. Honestly, it's fantastic.

It's a bit of a shame the engine isn't used on a whole lot of games... Graphically, it'd make the games at least worth looking at.

The engine is powerful enough that if more games used it, there would be fewer sales because not everyone has a monster rig.

Yea, but remember, this is still running on the crappy Xbox 360 and PS3 hardware. It'll run decently well on PC hardware, even if it is older. But that high-end performance will only be on the better hardware, and it would be the epitome of the graphics in the gaming world.

That indeed brings a tear to my eye. It's quite impressive. Must be a fun job to do graphics design with that puppy.

Crysis 3 just got announced, which should end up using CryEngine 3.

It'll be PC, Xbox360, and PS3.. so I imagine it'll run decent on current PC hardware. Hopefully they'll have the DX11 patch built into the game, rather than releasing it nearly a month after the game comes out.

Never liked Crysis 1. I think it was a pretty bad game. Didn't bother with 2 but it looked worse. Doubt I'll bother with 3.

I'd suggest the reason the cryengine didn't pick up is because it's just not very good unless you want to put out a pretty game. Could be wrong Crytek could just be crap at making games. Hope not i want timesplitters 4 to be good.

i liked 1. the sunrise at the beginning was awesome. but the idea of taking 500 bullets to kill 1 guy was annoying.

Sorry for the double-post, but here's another video showing off someone's physics engine within CryEngine 3. Very cool.
