It's too bad Alien Swarm is only a 4-person game, otherwise, I'd suggest adding it to the list. Considering it's free and decently fun to play, I'd suggest everyone who does this event try it. I don't know if the idea of splitting up into different 4-man groups is a fun idea to some people, but it is possible. Just a thought.

Yeah, it's definitely growing on me. But as Duke said, with 4 men teams, it's kind of a moot option for us if we get more than 4 people showing up to the events.

Maybe if we hosted a server like the one for Halflife we could altar the max players to 8?

4 Man teams can still be fun, though since we usually have a decent attendance we'd probably have to host 3 teams.

Might not be able to do it as another regular PC Gaming Game but perhaps an EC member could organize an event for it. Race to the end perhaps? 2 or more teams try to beat each other to the end of the campaign from square one.

Apparently it exists for a modified campaign... But with the way the campaign is set up, it's unlikely it would work well... Game mechanics are meant for 4 players...

If we can get 8 players we could try playing on Hard or Insane modes. I've played Normal and it can be pretty difficult if you don't do things right. Hard would probably be challenging even with every character.

I'd be up for the challenge if someone is willing to host such an event.

Likely no. We can't control the servers, and that's something we prefer to do. That way if someone's doing something they shouldn't be, we can remove them and go on having a good time.

That's a good way of doing it. Do you guys actually own/maintain your on servers, rent out other ones, or a combination of both?

All our game servers are on the same server as the RSBandB website so that they are fast and we can control all aspects about them. They are a little slower in some aspects such as changing maps because the website has priority, but they run good for no additional cost to us.

Well actually I went to the site and although you can't host your own server you can somehow become what they call a "Super Elite moderator" which can control the game like hosting the server according to the FAQ.

I know it can't fully compare to hosting your own server but you don't run a server for TF2, you just use a random one.

Ill be there tonight! Played HL2:DM for the first time the other day. I kept dying by people throwing furniture at me with the gravity hook gun or whatever its called. But fun game nontheless.
