Steve Jobs resigns as Apple CEO

He's still going to be the chairman though.

Wonder how this will affect the company as a whole.

This reminds me of when Bill Gates quit as CEO, but remained the chairman as well. Something similar might follow, but then again, Apple isn't Microsoft.

hell apple made so much money from the ipad, ipod sales that they can probably waste a few billion dollars on what type on creating a new screen cover for their accessories.

but i think steve is also leaving because of his health problems. he's probably too tired to take care of himself and the company at once.

Wont effect a thing. One man does not make a company. Tho i wouldn't mind seeing Apple hurt a little. Just cause i **** hate itunes. They deserve to be punished for it.

Anyone see the most recent photo of steve jobs on tmz's website. He really looked in bad shape. Really feel sorry for the guy.

I'm avoiding posting a link to the picture as I'm ignorant of the forum rules for posting links to such sites, since tmz is sort of a celebrity gossip site.

Thanks for not posting that picture, as it was found to be fake. Go figure, a tabloid that isn't honest...

I don't think Apple will change too much in the next 5-ish years. I'd think they've got a decent roadmap, and they're currently on top of the consumer device charts. Supposing they don't screw it up by stagnating as someone else passes, Jobs leaving won't be a huge problem.

Steve Jobs was a huge part of Apple. I think this will have some kind of effect on the company. Could be small, could be big, but there will be some kind of effect from his stepping back from the spotlight.

Not Creepy of course, but it's a resource hog that insists on installing other things with it when it needs to update. Which is about every week and it even comes with a necessary system reboot.
