The internet should be about freedom of expression, but it should also have limits. If they are improving on someone else's work without profits (a cover released for free, by someone without a youtube partnership), but if they are blatantly taking or making profits off of someone else's work (including revenue from youtube partnership), they should be forced to pay royalties to the people who own the IP, and I'd say in the realm of 90% is fair considering they stole the intellectual property of someone else.
If you disagree with anything I just posted, I don't care. I have a fairly centrist attitude on this whole issue, and you're not changing my mind.
I wasn't trying to change your mind, fellow who has the same name as me. I was just expressing the fact that I happen to agree with the article posted by the source, and I wanted to see how others felt about the issue. I also happen to think you have several points...
I just think the RIAA, MPAA, DMCA, SOPA, etc.. Are fundamentally flawed and overdramatized in importance. I also think they are evil.
