FTP help...

During the school year, I got used to using FTP to grab stuff of my school hard drive and put it onto my desktop. Now that I'm out of school, I want to find out how I can FTP between my laptop and desktop (going either way) in order to retrieve information I have on one for the other. I use WinSCP for FTP and occasionally Putty as well.

You'd need to set up a FTP server on both and clients on both. I'd suggest creating a Dropbox account.

I use something called DropBox, which is very handy for stuff like this.

If you need an FTP server running, go with FileZilla. You'd have to set it up with the desktop, as the laptop would be moving around and would likely have a less static address.

But as stated above Dropbox would work quite great for something like this.

As everyone else has said already, you need an FTP server to do this, which is both impractical and unnecessary, and extremely difficult if you're trying to do it locally. Instead services like Drop Box and Live Mesh can accomplish this for you.
