So...I'm finally fed up. This $30 headset from Logitech just isn't cutting it anymore. Obviously $30 is too little for a decent mic. So, I put it out to you guys. I'm looking to get a good, decent headset, but nothing too fancy or too expensive. I'd rather not spend over $100, but I don't want to pay less and end up getting less quality. I'd prefer to get something from a store like Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, or maybe even GameStop rather than go online, but if a good deal comes up online, I'll go for it. Anyways, I need suggestions for a good mic/headset to purchase (a headset type configuration please). The sooner the better. [-o<

My friend as a SkullCandy one, and it works pretty well. Over priced if you ask me though.

I would recommend Turtle Beach X11s. They are an xbox/pc combo headset, which basically means they have a 2.5mm audio jack and 2 3.5mm audio/mic jacks as well as 3.5mm to component audio adapter. Very comfortable and you can control game sound and chat sound with separate levels which is nice. It is $5-10 cheaper on dell.com than anywhere else you will find it.

The Turtle Beach headset looks good. I think I'll go for that one. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait as it is out of stock right now from Dell. Does it come with a warranty just in case it doesn't work or goes bad? Turtle Beach is good I hear, but just in case something goes wrong, I want to be able to replace it.

I don't know...my friend used to have those Turtle Beach ones and the call quality on skype was only average. Overall he sounded pretty muffled. He just bought these and the call quality is phenomenal.

Personally I have the Logitech G330 headset and it works great for me. Good stereo set of headphones and a nice mic.

I would highly reccommend the plantronics 367 headset. Just bought a set today. And i have to say that the sound quality is quite good. Each ear is fully covered, so you get good sound. Plus noise cancelling is excellent (don't have volume too loud, or you will lose track of time lol). The only downside is that instead of having usb input, the headset has two wires. One for audio, and one for microphone. And i only paid 39.00 (AUD) for them so, i'd say i got a preety good deal. And another plus is that they are more comfortable then my old logitech one that i bought about a month ago.

Here's the link:

Cheers, dafin0

That sounds good. I current mic has the same wire I/O. It wouldn't be a major pain. My tower has both ports for wires in the front. Only trouble I have is keeping it out of the way of my chair and me tripping over it. I'll keep looking. Should know by the end of March what I'm getting.

you could go with Astro A40's, it's what players from MLG use. But there pretty expensive and you have to order them online
