Hey everyone Im actually thinking of buying an itouch (yes i know im the zune guy -.-..) strickly for applications. My cousin got one for her birthday and i couldn't put it down when i asked to play around with it a little. Zune seems to be holding back on the zune hd because of the microsoft phone 7.. and im beginning to get irritated.

mk heres the real question. which should i get? 8 gigabytes or 32.

I will still be using my zune 8 for music. But ill also carry around this just incase i get bored or standing around with nothing to do. So it'll be:

zune: music

itouch: apps

will 8 gigs be enough for alot of applications??
any opinions?

Wait, you're debating an 8gb touch to replace an 8gb zune? Why would you even consider the same size that you already have?

I've got a 32gb 1st gen w/ a bit over 2gb of apps (126 apps). You'll go higher if you have decent games, and since 4.0 supports over 2.1k apps, I wouldn't worry about filling it up with random crap.

Might as well get a larger version. Ditch the Zune if you're getting an iPod Touch (there is no such thing as an itouch). If you're keeping the zune for music, just get a larger iPod to fit music + apps. It's ~$199 for an 8gb, and ~$299 for a 32gb model. If you can save up for an extra $100, it's a no brainer.

This being said, if you'd like to have a camera... Wait till the next gen gets announced. New models should be announced shortly. If the camera isn't a big thing for you, wait till the new models get announced, then snag one of the 3rd gen models (the ones that are currently out) with some discount.

I'd argue it'd be better to just buy an iPhone, which is basically an iPod Touch minus calling features. But, if all you want is the touch, then I also suggest what Pfk said and go with 32 gb and ditch your Zune (or give it to someone else). $100 for 4 times the space is a pretty good deal which will leave you with a lot of extra space to use when the time comes. Definitely go for the 32 gb if you plan on using the touch a ton, and switch your music over from the zune to the touch as well. That's my humble recommendation.

If you are not using it for music, I would say just go with the 8g. I dont see you needing more tbh, unless you are going to put a lot of movies of it. Not worth $100 more imo

I've got 180 apps on my touch and its only taking up 2gb...Keep in mind that after like 160 apps you have to use the search function to use them..kind of a pain. I would wait until they release the next generation to buy one (September 2010 I think?)
