100 days of 1000 - Or how I'll get my Mining skillcape

I just got level 92 Mining and I want mining to be my first skillcape. My plan is to continue mining gold ore all the way to 99.

Exp needed: 6,517,178

Since gold gives 65 experience it neatly breaks down to roughly 100k gold ore to get to 99. I routinely mine in groups of 1k so I'm potentially only 100 days away from my goal while retaining all the ore I mine.

Self-motivation
What I can do with 100k gold ore:
Option 1 (sell): $53M (@530/ea)
Option 2 (smith): 5.6M exp (with goldsmithing gauntlets)

Wish me luck. I'll update my progress here: 16 k / 100 k gold ore

Milestones reached:
12/11/07 - 7M exp
12/16/07 - Lvl 93

Good plan! But sticking to that plan will be tough...things come up...

Where are you mining the gold? If its not the gold mine in Keldagrim, IMO, its wasting time.

I'm mining the 10 rock gold mine northwest of Brimhaven. I've got a Magic Whistle and Dramen Staff so I can bank in Zanaris. Once I'm loaded with ore, I'm usually back to the mine well before all the gold respawns.

Is that faster than house tele to brimhaven then use duel ring tele back to castle war?

indeed, it is faster that way nicong. good point. although that does mean you're using up more supplies each trip :S

. also, if you can mine it that fast, why not try teh 7 gold in karamja volcano/tzhaar... goes pretty fast, and theres a bank right next to you. a little more popular sometimes though >.>

It's about the same. I've left the mine at the same time as someone going the way you suggested and we arrived back at the same time. They were using a glory instead of a duel ring.

The real difference isn't time but inventory space. Assuming you're using a home teletab, you'll be able to hold one more ore than I can each trip since you can wear your duel ring. I chose this route because it doesn't use up any resources and I can still get 26 gold ore each trip.

im 84/99 mining and im in granite quarry atm, i think its like 400k exp a day with the new update...was 700k so yea im mad =p

sweet plan and 100k gold ore really isnt that much. well at least compared to me lol. yea but anyway great plan. you might want to consider taking a day off maybe once a week. trust me too much of any skill is boring out to wazzu!!! but if ur extremely determined and dnt mind grinding away constantly everyday.......MORE POWER TO YEA!!!
