Debate Forum

RSBANDB needs a debate forum, where you can debate issues with RS, in a mature manner.

I suggest this because when i feel like debating, I usually go to tip it, because they have one. I would rather stay on this site, because Id love to support the site, and up my post count, and make new friends, which is hard to do when I an constantly switching sites.

Right now seeing as there is no debate forum feel free to post any thought provoking debatable ideas in non-rs discussion if they're non rs. Same goes if they're Runescape related issues, except in the RS related forum.

As for a real debate forum I'm not sure that it would be used. We've added other forums in the past and they hardly got used. Right now just post in those forums I mentioned above. Even if we wanted to I'm not sure it's needed because debates on debatable topics are rarely posted in those forums.

I see it as something which will attract massive arguing and flaming... if it was actually gunna be like an educated argument forum... then maybe.... [-o<

You must not be serious. Look at what happened to the Sandbox. I really doubt that something like that will happen again. Nice try to get the sandbox back.

I think mature and open debate can already happen in Non-RS Discussion. If we had a Debate forum..well..I'd be a little worried that people would just be rude so they could make the forum live up to its name XD

I'd rather not have a debate forum. If someone is bashing something that means a lot to me, I get really frustrated. And afterwards, I would regret everything I had said once I calmed down. It's just not worth the energy. I used to be all hyped about proving my point in the argument, but I realized, most people on the other side of the argument aren't going to change their minds either, so there's no point in the debate. Sure, you can learn more about the other person's view points, but I don't think it's worth getting frustrated over.

To me, debates are like communism. It sounds good on paper, but when you actually do it, it fails.

Yes. That was obviously my motive, because the terms "SANDBOX" and "DEBATE FORUM" are obviously synonyms. If there was a debate forum, im sure it wouldnt just be for spam, I want the sandbox back but seriously, thats like saying your post is basically a confession to murder. Its kind of a stretch.

Never knew there WAS a debate forum, at at least an attempt at one. Im kind of new here. Kind of.

I agree totally with what Mushroom says here, that debates can already take place. This actual thread is evidence of that.
