Apparently this is a month for tech people to die in. If you don't know who this guy, he's the dude who created C basically. He also helped in developing other programming languages.

It's sad his death doesn't get as much publicity as Steve Jobs' death did. I've only seen the news being published mostly on technology related sites with very few major news organizations picking it up. Dennis Ritchie's influence on computing today is much greater than anything Jobs has done. I'm not intending to put down what Steve Jobs has done, he has accomplished a lot as well, but it's typical that CEOs get more publicity.

Unix and C are still the fundamental base for most computing software today, including those shiny iPhones and Macs. It's a shame more people don't know this.
