U.S Census Data

I'm bored.

Anyyyyywaayyyy, I was looking at the U.S Census data. We now have over 308 million people in our country, and I noticed that puerto rico was included in the census data since it is considered U.S territory.

So question before Christmas is

Should we make puerto rico the 51st state?

Would be totally awesome, we can fly domestic over there and build a million mcdonalds on the tiny island.

Then as shane would know, World War 3 will start and the US will invade Canada and make that whole place the 52nd state. Except the french part, we don't want it.

Who knows? I remember seeing a magazine cover a couple of years back that said "Iraq: The 51st State?".

America will never invade Canada. We have a better chance of being assimilated into the same country out of necessity later on in the future, but not invaded.

You'd be better off making Mexico into your next state. I doubt the Mexicans would be happy with it but you know, it'd solve your illegal problems.

Puerto Rico themselves don't want to become a state AFAIK.

not really considering then the other hispanic countries would illegally go to mexico

Eh, I don't want any of our territories becoming states. That puts an extra tax burden on the rest of the country that we just don't need. Those countries need quite a bit of work to get modernized and brought up to par with the rest the country. I don't want to pay for that.

Pureto Rico should not be a state. "The 51 states of America." Somehow that just doesn't sound nor look as good as 50. Also, it's just a territory we kinda inadvertently acquired during a war (I think). If it was made a state we mise well make all our other territories states, atleast then we might have 55 or 60 so it'd sound better.

As for Canada: When the Olympics were on earlier this year they had a ~30minute segment on the relations between Canada and the US over the decades, most notably a segment regarding the Flight Situation of 9/11. Canada landed almost all our flights and housed and fed ALL the passengers free of charge until it was alright for them to return. That, along with other historical occurrences, brings the Canadian-American relationship to nearly twin sisters and best friends.

American invade Canada? I don't think so.
