Take a look at this google map for going from New York to China.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... 6.044922&ie=UTF8&z=2

then look at direction #31, 46, and #106.

Oh yeah I discovered this a few months ago.

If you choose Los Angeles, California, to Taipei 101, it makes you go up all the way to Washington, then kayak across the ocean to Japan, take bullet trains/trams, then jet ski, then swim, then kayak again down south to Taiwan. And you stop at China between Japan and Taiwan XD

Hehe I saw that quite some time ago. Someone used it in this webcomic.

Lol! I laughed so hard when I saw that the legitimate directions said 'kayak across the Pacific Ocean'. Good stuff. I love those little things that Google does that are just perfectly fitted to my sense of humor.

Spoiler for Nietszche Quote:

But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols

Tell's me that some programmer at google has a decent sense of humor. I wonder what other "easter eggs" are hidden in googles code. I've tried other types of travel queries and don't get the same creative directions. For instance, I tried the directions for "earth" to "jupiter", and it defaults to directions from "Earth, Texas" to "Jupiter, Florida", lol.

^ I take it you never googled "Chuck Norris" and hit the I'm feeling lucky button?

Also saw this before. Had a good laugh about it.

Chuck Norris and I once had a competition to get around the world in eighty days using Google Map directions. He even said he would limit himself to only using his body to travel. Just swimming and running. Needless to say, he was done the day it started. I quit at my front door step. Went back to my computer to play "Blindfolded Chuck Norris vs. a billion ninja zombies."
