A baysitter by the name of Kate harper abandoned a six year old deaf and visually impaired girl, by strapping her into a pram and going inside the house and going to sleep. A bus driver found the girl in the morning.

Only in scotland.

Honestly there the best.

Alright so she nearly killed the baby but on the other hand she was drunk and couldn't remember anything so it's not her fault!

See that's disgusting. God **** Americans. BAN YOUR GUNS. YOU GUY ARE FAT STOP EATING SWEETIES. :@

See claiming it was a bottle seems a bit harder to believe. I can believe someone got drunk and forgot a kid. Someone stuffng a child in a microwave sounds like a nutter with a poor excuse.

Being drunk should not be permissable as an excuse - it is used too often

All news stations go into "spin cycle" mode once in a while.

This is someone else baby she is taking care of. So under no circumstances was she allowed to abandon the baby for a drink. (if it was heineken, exceptions are applied.......JOKING :P). She should've denied the offer if she wanted to drink.

Blaming the drink is like blaming common sense, dont have enough of it. (which would've told her not to drink.)

Cheers, dafin0

I hope that's only sarcasm on the last part. You know, in most jobs, if you go get drunk and come to work and act stupid, you get fired. That's just the way it is. There are more people in this world that are smart and don't get drunk and can do a job just as well without the liability. Frankly, when you have the responsibility of babysitting a kid, you shouldn't be drinking at all or doing anything except what you are supposed to be doing. Anyways, I think this is totally unacceptable. 26 years old and can't manage her priorities or handle responsibility. This is only made worse by the fact the child had disabilities as well. So stupid... [-X

And wat is wrong with drug addicts? Shes not hurting anyone shes just chillin with a needle sticking out her arm. I REALLY think at 6 years old she should be able to handle herself. I was wrestling dogs for food at that age.

You all need to get off your high horses. Who hasn't driven while drunk before? WHO hasn't beaten up elderly women whom you mistook for a bandit while staggering out the club late at night? WHO can hold there hand up and say they've never made an innocent mistake. We all do it and shes scottish so we should give her the benefit of the doubt. I BLAME the parents for leaving her in charge they should of known better and highered someone who's actually qualified to deal with a child with disabilities.

I have a hard time believing it's ok to let this girl off the hook. And I don't think you have the problem of being deaf and blind at the same time. Kinda of makes it harder to do things in life just a little, no matter your age. And again, the thing is, when you take a job, you follow through on it. She didn't have to accept the job, but she did. Maybe you can blame the parents, but if she knew she couldn't take care of the kid properly and responsibly, why did she accept the job in the first place. There's no way you can twist this around to make it seem like she is some sort of heroine or in the right. This case is clearly not in her favor.

Well, the problem is that the babysitter dosen't know how to be one. And at six years old, it is impossible to take care of your self efficiently, and at human standards. Well, i would imagine that the babysitter didn't tell the parents that she was going to get drink. If she did, she most likely wouldn't have gotten hired.

If i was six years old, i'd hire Mr's doubtfire to be my babysitter

Cheers, dafin0
