well i was checking my email and i get a message from paypal. paypal said that i bought a digimax 130 (no idea what that is) for almost 500 bucks.

i clicked on the bottom the "go to site to fight thing", and i checked the url... this is what was there uahaja.com/html_c/paypal/login.html

so of course being any good consumer, i went to the real paypal site (actually typed it in) and of course firefox recognized it as the real site (the whole address bar changing color). so i reported the site and email address which ended in .con to paypal and see what happens.

my god what is with these scammers.

Strange enough, I get a lot of these emails too. Some say I bought some err... Blue pills? And I need to confirm the payment or something, by entering my credit card details.

Others say my Windows Live messenger account is going to be deleted in 48 Hours because I was involved in spamming schemes. They give me a link with a "solution" that says: Click here to download Microsoft's malware removing tool to keep your account. When I check the link, it's a .exe file linked to another site, obviously not from Microsoft.

I've never been fooled before. All you have to do is use your common-sense, and be alert. These kind of emails are so easy to evade. They always have terrible grammar and they never look good (in style).

Glad you didn't lose anything  .

It's just one of those things in life that never goes away: scamming. People always try to find ways to exploit others. Scammers see that some people are gulible and will be willing to throw money at something that sounds to good to be true. That, or people just don't pay attention anymore and just buy without looking. As long as you "read the fine print" and don't believe what "sounds too good to be true" then you should be fine and never get scammed.

I hate those sites. Somehow I have never gotten an email like that, but I think my dad has gotten emails like that. The lengths they do to trying to get your money you would think they should get an actual job and make the money they want to scam from someone. XD

The sad thing is that they get enough money to keep doing it, or else they would have given up already :$

Welcome to the recession. The problem isn't just that people keep doing it, but how many people do it. I know someone who has gotten about 700 pieces of mail from scammers since the year started. Maybe one day, governments will find a way to stop these idiots who seem to think getting $5 an hour from scams are better than going out and getting a job at McDonalds or something.
