what are your thoughts on these 'secret messages" in songs?

here are my thoughts...ITS A LOAD OF BALONEY! or did all the musicians made a meeting and said "hey guys lets add secret messages when our songs is played backwards!"....why i think its baloney? half of their lyrics are wrong and they make no since most of the time but sometimes its the opposite, anyways alot of words sound like other words when played backwards

Some are interesting. I think sometimes they are put in on purpose, and some are coincidental. They may be put in on purpose just to get people to listen to their songs.

No doubt the most famous ones are the Stairway message and the Pink Floyd: The Wall message.

disregard the beginning and end of this video, couldn't find any other decent short one.

They are full of crap. The person is messing with the song. I like the end of the video Al3x posted :mrgreen:

No. If I put text over it that was different than what was on the video you would hear it too. I mean, sure. The stairway one and the Floyd ones are very distinct, but most of the time its just a coincidence.

well i saw that it says they added lyrics
so i listen to the songs not watching the vids
i heard nothing on both of them
but i made my brother watch/listen to the video
and he heard the words but i think its cause the lyrics are there

Well they're really distorted, you have to listen really good and the words may not be pronounced 100% correct but they're there.

Of course like Nike said, alot are fake. It's so easy to fake that stuff now that anyone can make a fake message.

thats awesome. kinda why i got into rock is these messages. Not only the secret ones but the messages that the songs gives.

just saw the pink floyd one and 2pac (maybe 2pac)...uh yeah they did try to do that one but i doubt the rest like stairway to heaven.

I think it could by a slim chance be coincidence, but other than that it is hogwash to me. :^o

I think people just construct the songs like that and make it sound good, but it's not legit. [-X

You can make anything backwards sound like anything if you put some "lyrics" to it.

I think the Stairway to Heaven things are true.

To be honest, I believe some of them were just coincedences but some of them seem pretty real, such as the Stairway to Hell one. Insane Clown Posse also did this with their albums, they even announced it on their song The Unveiling on their The Wraith: Shangri La album.

try to find the secret message with your eyes closed.
you cannot find it most of the time with your eyes closed.
your brain hears what it wants you to hear, so when they give you the words, your brain wants to hear those words.
and sometimes they come out clear enough, and it's coincidental.
i doubt the artist does it purposely.

Some songs you can't understand the "normal" lyrics to, only when you read them while it plays do you usually find them. But that doesn't mean the song doesn't have those lyrics!!

I believe some some songs have intended subliminal messages, but it's really hard to put a backwards message in while keeping the forward lyrics relevant to something. Especially since reversed sound words don't necessarily resemble existing words and even when they do, they probably wont make sense when you string them together. So of course, if there are subliminal messages in songs, it's not going to be anywhere near a recognizable sentence. XD Unless they have a bunch of mumbling or something as lyrics- all though I suppose something backwards could work for those "woooah woaaaaah woahhhhhhh" things.
