I am still deciding which language I am going to take for next year. You guys have one day to vote, either for Japanese or Spanish. Post comments about each please, thanks.

EDIT: Post if you voted, so I can keep track of who voted. I already got a few votes from runescape and MSN, so I don't want to add up the totals with the same person again.

Spanish is a lot easier and more usefull. With Japanese you have to learn a totally new alphabet and all the characters. With Spanish you use the same alphabet.

Well Spanish I think would be better, it will be more useful in the future.
When are you ever going to speak Japanese? Unless you are going to go to Japan. It really maters with What you want to do and places you want to go in your life?
Spanish Will be alot easier.

Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language in the world so that is an obvious reason to take it unless your going to have to be spendind a lot of time in Japan then Japanese is the way to go.

Personally I'd take Japanese cause it's more interesting- but as others have said Spanish is much more common and a lot easier.

I'm very surprised at that actually, I was pretty sure English was, never even occurred to me that Spanish was so widely used, but it's all over, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Columbia, Uruguay, Venezuela and duh Spain.

On that basis, I'd go Spanish since it's more common than English.

Japanese will allow you to pick up more chicks considering it's a cooler language. 8)

I thought you had to look Asian to pick up chicks?

Japanese would be cool, but like it was mentioned, it's a completely different language to learn. You have to learn like 30,000 characters or something like that in order to be somewhat fluent and get by. Spanish is much easier and not a bad language to know, especially in the United States.

depends what you wanna do in life
if you are just picking on for fun then pick Japanese its a fun language
but i would pick Japanese cause all the new technology comes out in japan first in Japanese not English
now if u wanted to build house and need workers u could hire Mexicans and since they speak Spanish that would help you out

but in the end i would pick Japanese cause my girlfriend is Japanese

Yeah, go with Spanish. It's more useful plus there are so many more countries that speak spanish while only one country speaks japanese lol.

Japanese is a LOT of work to learn. And, honestly, Spanish is more useful. Take Spanish.

Yeah I voted spanish. Also, after seeing Doc's post, I'd actually say Spanish is more of a romantic language, its quite exotic :)
