Want to bet sooner or later someone finds a way to cheat the system. Seems a bloody stupid scheme to be throwing money at.

Best way to deal with that is to do the opposite, tax the obese people, like they've taxed beards before. By 2050 they should've accumulate enough money.

Surely it'd be cheaper and just as effective to shoot them?

Agree with Gontcha. A fat-tax needs to be initiated.

Rofl at Anubis' remark.

Seriously the amount of stick a kid would get if his parent used that..baad idea. And more to the point, who's paying for all this i wonder?

A fat tax would be better motivation to lose weight. Too bad they wouldn't do it in the US.

Fat tax would be much better but a better definition of what is "fat" would need to be introduced otherwise body builders/people with large muscle mass would get taxed.

Hmm. I think they should just let people do what they want. If they want to sit at home and become obese then that's their own personal decision. Taxing would help people lose weight, but who says they want to be skinny?

Giving obese parents rewards seems a bit stupid to me personally. I mean what about the skinny parents that walk their children to school without being bribed to do so? Just seems kind of weird.

I say, let people do what they want.

Well, seeing that America pays like uhm nothing for healthcare assurance, so they don't give a **** if you're obese.
In Europe (most countries though), if you get ill, you can get the money ( a big part of it atleast) that you've spent on medication/healthcare, back. So, alot of obese people => high health risk => alot of money down the drain=> motivation for anti obesity campaigns.

I would love to know why when someone gets so big, they dont just think, "Hang on, I'm a pretty big fatty... I think I'll attempt to lose weight"

Fat tax should be implemented. Make so much sense. Everyone should have their BMI recorded on a database every month, and if your BMI is over 25 you should get £5 shoved straight on top of the council tax, and every single point above 26 should add another 50p. Get some fat bugger with a BMI of 28.5 sits on top of an extra £17.50 on their council tax. It's also an extra £17.50 they dont spend on more crappy food, so it forces them to loose weight, as well as gives them incentive to do so.

You can't just tax fat people, first if you live in America it's unconstitutional and second though some maybe no use to the community at all they are still people. Sure they give countries like America a bad name it's hard to lose weight for them, also it has to do with their parents weight too. I'm 6ft 159lbs and i eat all the time and i'm not fat, but all you have to do is balance it out with physical activity and people haven't figured that out.

I wouldn't say fat people, but actual obese people take the cake (no pun intended).

People who claim that just because they're obese, they're disabled.

Obesity is not a disability.
