Lets discuss things about vegetarians - Don't let this one turn into the one that was in the sandbox!!!

I think that vegetarians are just normal people with a different lifestyle, I prefer vegetables to meat, and to be honest, if chicken was counted as 'vegetable' I would turn myself into a vegetarian.

What do you think? ~kat

I think vegetarians are better for the environment because they don't put as much demand on beef, therefore, there's less methane put into the atmosphere by cows.

Of course, the same logic goes for swapping out incandescent lightbulbs for fluorescent.

You're missing out on all the good stuff. And any religion banning meat is idiotic. Why should you listen to some random priest telling you to not eat meat? DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH YOUR FOOD.

Just in case: It's called a personal opinion.

I'm not vegetarian, but I barely eat any meat.

-But, some people have different opinions on food. Such as, my parents love beef/pork roast, I cannot stand it. It tastes horrible.
Vegetarians might think that Meat tastes horrible.
Once again, its a matter of opinion on people's taste.

So if a religion says, do not smoke or drink it is also idiotic?

Its a matter of opinion.

Some religions are odd, but not to the believer, so its not idiotic, in that person's opinion.

Why are we talking about religions?

As for the main topic of the discussion: I eat meat. Why?
Well, first of all, it tastes delicious.
Secondly, it is healthy. (I'm not counting McDonald's.)
Thirdly, if were not to eat meat, what? Should we just wait for cows to overpopulate and take over the world? Most cows that get eaten by us have had a good life.

And besides, being a vegetarian is pretty unsatisfactory. The animals don't know anything about what they've done. Or more like, what they haven't done. Since when did vegetarians affect meat producing in any way at all?

So is this what it comes down into? No matter how much you boycott meat, animals die just as much.

Plants and vegetables might have minds of their own as well.. plant killers.

I would never give up my cheeseburgers. I don't have anything against vegetarians; it's a personal choice.

@why we are talking about religions, Not eating meat is a belief, a belief is a religion in most cases
@It tasting delicious - Matter of opinion.
@Its healthy - Its not healthy drenched in grease, or all that disgusting things that make it fattening and sick.
@If we wouldn't eat meat - Well, of course like most non-edible animals (cats, dogs, ect) we would have to keep restrain on the population, spaying and neutering the animals would be sensible.

Animals may not know what they've done, but they do know pain, and they do have feelings. Have you ever seen, you take a kitten from the queen, if the queen does not know where her kitten is, and needs it, she will look around constantly confused, take a calf from the mother - the mother will know its gone, and will not understand why, which proves animals have feelings twords other things.

~I got to go. I'll be back later.

Nothings wrong with eating meat, nothing's wrong with being a vegetarian. I like meat, that's my opinion. I'd be a vegetarian if I had to.

The only thing I hate about vegetarians is that its like a religion. I hate how people force religion on you, and some of the vegetarians are like the people from the morman church across my street (nothing against mormans) coming over every 3 months saying "If you join our religion you'll win a free bible!" It's with all religions, they just happen to come to me because I live across the street. Not all religions/groups are like that, but I hate the people who do that.

Whether meat tastes good or not is indeed a matter of opinion; why would it matter, though? You're not convince people to become vegetarians by saying, "Hey, it's just a matter of opinion!". It just wouldn't work. 95% of the world's population share my opinion.

Healthiness isn't divided between fattening and not fattening. Meat is possibly the best sourve of protein, and also good source for iron and b-vitamins. And besides, fat is healthy in moderate amounts.

And what could possibly be a better way to moderate the animal population than eating them?

And you said about how animals know pain and have feelings; well then, how do you know that plants don't? They are also living things, and I don't see why they couldn't feel pain and have feelings as well.

Hmm, plants do not have nerve cells to correspond to pain, so they don't feel pain.
your right about the healthiness, but people also can get vitamins to get all this nutrients and protein...

I do agree with that, I don't enjoy people trying to force me into their own religion, a soft push would be OK, and stop when I say no, and it could help their chances I believe, but this is my opinion.
