Sorry about your loss, I know exactly how you feel, my grandpa died last year.

I think in this case it's best to respect their beliefs.

If they find comfort in religion then that's good for them, we can just ignore it if we want to.

It's sad to see how many people are dying from cancer these days. Like you said, I'm sure he's in a much more pleasant place now, wherever that place may be.
