Duel Tournaments As many of you know, since the opening of PvP Worlds, ‘76k’ing has become a very common practice. We’ve never been happy about this as we believe it spoils the game experience for players who want to play on PvP Worlds as intended and exhibit their PvP skills, with high rewards for high risks, rather than it being a safe method for earning large amounts of money. Looking at our forums, it looks like many players feel the same way.

Designing and developing a solution to this issue that worked, but which did not lessen the rewards for legitimate kills, turned out to be rather tricky. We’re hopeful that the solution we’ve come up with will reduce 76King without having too significant an impact on legitimate PKers.

Players who trade kills will find that the drop they receive is lessened in value. Legitimate PKers might find that some of their kills will result in smaller drops (e.g. when getting revenge on someone who has just killed you), but since you’ll still only lose as much Earning Potential as is used for the drop, your average drop will stay the same.

People can now just use the 76k trick with 3 people instead of 2. A better solution would have been to only let the killer get up to as much as the person killed is carrying. So if the person is only carrying 76k, the pker can only get up to 76k in loot. If they risk 10m, they can get 10m in loot. Just like the old system.

They should find a way to eliminate 76kers and let the real pkers just get the drops

This allows even more abuse... They really need to clean this up...

bounty hunter (crators) failed misribly because level 55s can atk level 3s
Pvp-- big improvement drop tabels failed

one way is that if in the last 30min someone has killed you or you kill them and you kill them again, then you wont get a drop.

Obviously it has some effect, the inflation has stopped for a moment now. Now I wonder if it continues to get back to the old prices again. I never liked 76k-ers so any attempt to stop them is good.

This wont really change anything. The 76kers will just find a way to do it again. The economy will change a little bit but Most will still be the same

The Runescape Economy is crashing some, but the inflation before was overbearing, and so the deflation is a nice change. economic decline is always a wake-up call for everyone, plus it allows for more growth instead of just inflation over time.

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much." And spread his arms out on the cross and died. If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.

0/5 basically because it doesn't apply to me. I never understood it and when I helped a friend once I didn't even understand it, he almost gave up on me and almost asked another friend to help him with it.

A good idea, but I heard that it hasn't completely solved the problem still an improvement, though.

In my opinion people should either fix the problem or do nothing at all. This is just pretending.

brilliant update, if you consider trying as good as doing :? . maybe jagex should first realize how this blemish to runescape works, the destory it at the core. doing something as simple as this wont do much. all they seemed to do was remove 76king from the people that dont have a multitude of people to 76k with, and most do. that had good intentions, but obviously they didnt put much thougt into this.

i personally think that to trully remove 76king, these rules have to be in place:

1: if you kill someone, you can not log out or leave pvp for several minutes. the more you risk, the less time you have to wait. if you are risking 15+ mil, it takes 1 minute(in a hotspot).if your risk 200k-, you have to wait 15 minutes(in a hotspot)

2: you can only get a max of double of whatever you or your opponent risks.it depends on whichever is lower.

3: anyone you have been in direct contact with(pm or clan chat) gives less cash if you kill them than a person you would normally find would

4. instead of 76k to make it possible for good loot, make it 200k.

5. make pvp drops more like pvp armour, make the drops be pvp-obtainable only, and let them have a use outside pvp(skills and pvm). this would be a good way to put in new armour and keep pvping profitable.

if jagex does this the reward of 76king will probably not compensate for the reward, and only the most organized people will be able to contact each other without lowering their drop for each other. and to gather a group this way? impossible.

4/5
