Early Beta Access

Did any of you get early access to the RS3 Beta this Wednesday? The emails were sent out to those who were accepted today. Thoughts on the whole programme?

What do I get for being a continuous subscriber for over 8 years (February 2005)?

No early access. Thanks Jagex. I've been waiting since it was announced last year on the live stream. Screw you. Yes I'm very frustrated to say the least...

Davo, don't worry, you will get to play the beta once they open it up to more people. This is only the first round of the beta.

I didn't get in either, even through registering my interest and having played for a long while.

Though I have my trust that though they do consider a member's loyalty, they must also factor in a member's specs on the machine they'll be running the beta in.

If the population of Premier members doesn't fill a tester's target for Jagex's preferred specs in the beta, maybe they have picked a handful of veterans to join along the ride to fill such quotas. Has anyone of any members who don't have Premier yet were invited into the beta?

was just trying it out, looks nice but it is just sooo freaking had to move right out. hopefully they'll iron out the problems. now if only they will release the client for it.

They said in the latest BTS video that there won't be a client - ever.

Sorry for not providing proof. The Beta Q&A at 1:50 talks about how there won't be a client.

The client was meant for people having trouble with Java or conflicts that existed from using browsers to play. I guess Jagex is confident that there won't be any issues with playing it straight from a browser and don't see a need for it.

I got in; unfortunately it is unplayable at the moment because load times are way too long. On a funny note, some times player characters won't load and you get moonwalking polar bears! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4-118ViizM

I found that once you walk to many places, the load time decreases when you revisit. This is still early beta so this is expected. However, this is not unplayable for the whole purpose of the beta, to fix things about the world, which only means walk around and look at things and say what needs to look different etc.
