I, like allot of other people I know have been avoiding polypore, mostly because I was too lazy to learn the best way to kill the creatures and what gear to wear. Every time a polypore creature came up as a slayer task, I cancelled it. After hearing my clan raving about the great money they were making killing the Ganodermic Beast, I decided to give it a whirl. What follows is a summary of the gear I wore, inventory I took, and the resulting drops from one trip. Note: This monster requires a slayer level of 95 to kill.
Armor: Head - Ahrims Hood Body - Ahrims Robe Top Legs - Ahrims Robe Skirt Boots - Mystic Boots Gloves - Barrows Gloves Cape - Max Cape Shield - Illuminated Unholy Book Aura - Reverence Aura Ring - Tokul-Zo Ring Neck - Amulet of Fury Weapon - Polypore Staff (fully charged)
Inventory: Vecna Skull (for 6 point magic boost) Enhanced Excalibur Fire Runes (for recharging polypore staff) 2 pack yak pouches pack yak scrolls 5 prayer pots (4 dose)
Familiar: Pack Yack with 15 prayer pots (4 dose)
My goal was to stay in the dungeon killing Ganodermic Beasts until the charges on my polypore staff ran out, as a test to see how many I could kill. One staff holds 3000 charges. My strategy was to take a pack yak half way filled with prayer pots, and to use the yak to send some drops back to the bank as needed, renewing the yak with a pouch when it ran out. There is a summoning obelisk in the dungeon to renew points, so you could stay along time with this method. They are a very easy kill, using protect from magic and attacking from a safe spot. For the most part, an enhanced excalibur is all you need for healing, although I always had a few of the cooked sharks the monster frequently drops, in inventory, just in case I had trouble with the monster getting around the safe spot.
The end result was 201 Ganodermic Beast kills with the one staff. I ended using just over 15 of the 20 prayer pots I brought. Since I brought fire runes with me, I could have recharged the staff on the spot and continued till my prayer pots ran out.
Here is a summary of the drops:

As you can see, this monster can be a definite money maker, or a great source for high level farming seeds while training magic. I will be making lots more trips in the future as long as the values are at these levels, especially the value for the Ganodermic Flake drops, which sold instantly on the GE for 1.9 million coins!
