What made you play runescape?

So what made you play runescape, if you still play why do you. If you dont play why not, and what has runescape did for you?

My friend all played runescape in junior high so naturally i started playing, it helped pass the time in school and when i didnt work it was nice to have something to do. I dont play anymore becuase it just dosnt do anything for me anymmore. "Woot im going to click the mouse for 6 hours mining coal." but it was fun why it lasted. Runescape really helped me with my typing skills.

For me, it was Alex 43 and Karl 67 (my cousin in real life). They got me hooked and i have just stayed with it. It helps me pass the time and so i play it a lot in the summer. i'm not sure what i am going to do when i get 99 everything but i'm sure i will find something that will keep me in the game!

Saw RSC recommended in a magazine when I was young, got around to trying it out one day and didn't think much of it. Not really sure how it went from there but I must've gone back again and continued playing it. Had no idea what I was doing to start with.. I think I must've been killed by a few cows. :oops:

These days it's mainly RSBANDB that keeps me going. Sometimes I'd love to quit, but I can't..

A couple of friends told me to make an account and hang around with them.

A while after I started training and I just gradually got into it.

Nowadays if I have nothing else to (Which isn't often) I log on and play.

A friend introduced me to RSC a while back, so I created an account on it and got up to level 30ish. Weren't those the good old days

Took a massive break and came back to the new and improved RS2, and didn't have much to do other than raise a few levels and eventually make new friends on it. I used to go and pk with a group every once in a while, and I was a member of a clan or two, so that kept me going I guess. Now I'm a decent runescape player, while the friend I used to know is long gone. Go figure

like most a friend started me in rsc man i had no idea what to do i saved up and bought goblin armor to realize you cant ware it lol i take breaks but no matter how hard i try i cant quit

started at rs2 then found it on miniclip idk i seemed cool as it had not suberb graphics and me pc could run it whit no lag now its different i lag like hell thx to hd since serves get more presure well what keeps me now i guess clan and friends nothing els rs is not what it used to be...

Some friends at school played it in year 6 (before the age update). Only 1 of them still play, and I honestly don't know why I do either. XD I guess it's just something to do when I'm bored.

A friend, and another person who I guess sometimes hung out with the people I was friends with; though, I wouldn't say I was his friend, I didn't like him- well they both played. I think it went like the one I didn't like would say something about it, and my friend would then reply like "Hey, thats from RuneScape!" and I would be like "Omg you *** ***". Anyways, that was early 2005. So, one late March (or early April) weekend I was bored and remember that game they would sometimes say stuff about (which I thought would probably suck). Anyways, I started liking it, how it had many skills and how you would advance levels etc. Something random I remember, I got bored on tutorial island and had to finish it on two sessions. I also had trouble on the rannging part, I dunno why. Creating another account just to do tutorial island again, a month later, I had trouble ranging again. XD

I've long since passed that friend who's quit many times and restarted on new accounts, and who I helped become a member for the first time ever today (lol agility is fast from level 1 o_O).

(Yes, I violated the Terms of Service by being 12 when I created my account. I'm not going to be like everyone else and say "I joined before they added the 13+ rule", as most times they joined with it, and you can't even say that. Yes, I did join before they asked age, but it was in the Terms of Service for a long time before that, so it's not even possible to say you joined before they added the rule (unless it was like 2001/02 or something). I didn't read the TOS before joining though (who does) and I would of said I was 13+ in the first place if it stopped me for being too young.)

A week and some days later, I didn't like getting those "You must be logged on a Members server to do this." messages. So I became a member at a rather low level. I'm not sure my combat level, but I remember being Ardougne and there was a moron(s) like:
Morons: Nmr u got a main?
Me: Main?
Morons: Ya a main rofl
Me: And that is what?
Morons: Wow lmfao like an account u play on more... u no, higher combat than lvl 19 XD...
Morons: You noob
So it was lower than 19.

I would of had a membership without any cancels for 3 years and 3 months now if I hadn't been banned.

I continue to play as it continues to be addicting. Just the setting a goal and obtaining it thing. I've been playing less recently, though. Dunno how less and why, but http://highscores.rsbandb.com/runescape ... accomplishments/nmr7 shows how slow I'm gaining levels.

For me it would be a group of friends who were playing it all the time and I wanted to play so then I got into and I was like wow, this game is amazing and I've been attached to it for some time now. Not on as much As I used to be on though. Most of my friends moved onto WOW or something but I'm sticking with nice and cheap Runescape.
