Essence = Runite?

Ok so i recently got 57 crafting (like 20min ago) and i was gonna buy some pure ess to craft some nats so i could alch some items i had crafted. Went to GE and offered max price (141ea) for 1k ess and...........NOTHING!!!! I was stunned!

I went to RS official forums and NOONE is selling pure ess and everyone who is is selling 150+ ea! I honestly didnt think that the trade change would have this big of an effect on the RC branch of the rs economy. I guess i was wrong.

Has anyone noticed this lately? Any analysis on the problem?

LOL wtf? that blows. i was going to be starting a runecrafting goal soon too. aren't the prices on nats dropping? higher ess price and lower nat prices dont make sense. GE makes things wacky.

Yea i wanted 99 rc cuz its not that common unlike cooking, fletching, fm, etc. this really put a damper on my goal, but knoing me ill prolly find some little devilish way around it to at least break even if not profit off it.

doesnt affect me much since i don't runecraft, but so long as nat prices are above pure ess whats it matter? well i suppose it cuts your profit but i prefer xp over items (mainly)

It's odd this topic comes up.

Because i heard yesterday through a friend that someone was buying out all the Pure essence in the GE so he could control pricing i suppose.

I didn't believe it at the time, that seems like a rather large task to do and as essence is always coming into the game i didn't really see how he would manage it.

And yet this topic appears, either a funny coincidence or someone really is trying it. o.0

I think it is becaus so many people are lined up to buy ess and people that are selling them is lower than the buyers.

You make more profit by mining pure ess than runecrafting nats now...

say you mine 1k p ess an hour or craft 1k nats an hour

p ess = 150 ea
nats = 266-280 ea MAX

150K an hour mining p ess
116-130K an hour runecrafting nats.

RCing is dead. No more pkers to buy nature runes, no more rc pking brings a lot of noobs in abby rcing... it's so ***...

Rcing may be dead for the moment but sooner or later people will realise that they can make a chunk of money mining the essence themselves and do that, pushing essence prices down.

See, this whole change has screwed up lots. Herblore is pathetic now, the herbs are costing DOUBLE what the potions actually sell for. How the hell does that make sense?

Fishing has been declining for months now it's at the point where it's not worth doing either.

Mining is ruined, though that's more cause of Jagex changing things that didn't need changing - i.e the bloody mining emot. I suspect runite ore to be flooding in soon due to low risk now so expect those prices to drop.

Crafting, dragonhide has gone crazy and isn't really an effective training method anymore, from what i hear.

It's only gunna get worse. They've made massive changes and unsee able things are now happening. This is why there bloody morons for doing it in the first place but now it is done, we've got no choice but to sit back and watch, see what they do about it.

I really hate some of the price changes. I mean herblore was/is my favourite skill to raise, but well it's just not feasible in anyway anymore. The losses you make are crazy, i'm sure it costs more than construction.

Jagex can control the prices now, so why not just balance the bloody things? They were fine before grand exchange came along ..

Having decided to do a bit RC myself I have also found it impossible to buy any pure essence and seen the price rise over the last few days. There just doesn't seem any about. It could be merchants forcing the price up but I think it's probably in part due to the fact that many involved in RWT probably used pure essence mining as a way to obtain gp to then sell for cash. It's now no longer worth doing this so we have a lack of essence in circulation. Not sure how this will all end up, other than profitable for those who had essence supplies at the moment.

Do 2nd ingredients still cost loads? I'd be damned if they cost dirt cheap because I make 500k/hr from fungi etc.

Seconds cost about the same as before Killer. It's just the potions that have hit rock bottom prices in the GE.

So it's still going to be profitable getting fungi, etc.
