99 Firemaking is not easy....

Strength has more 99s than Fletching does, but it isn't really easier...
It is just more useful...

Firemaking has very limited uses, and so it does not have as many 99s as some other skills...

Maybe not "easy", but it sure is fast compared to many other skills. And compared to many other fast skills, it's cheap.

firemaking for me would be difficult because of its monotony. i need a skill that involves clicking more than a tinderbox and some logs for it to be fun. i wouldnt be particularly proud of firemaking either, since i would get no joy out of it

I just find it tedious, and because you can't zone out like fishing, woodcutting, mining, fletching, crafting, etc. it is a less desired skill. That and the fact that 99 firemaking is even more useless than other skills.

Firemaking is easy if you have the right things, but one of the reasons there are that many (compared to other skills) is that you lose money from it, with no way to get it back unless you do something else. It's really only useful up to level 95 (for the pyre) and then that's it. Just extra xp and a new cape once you get to 99.

i think firemaking is only useful if you can light it basically with your own two hands. iono i'm waiting for wieldable sticks that you can light logs with. that extra makes a big difference in the long run

I will only be getting 99 firemaking for the extra total level, and for the cape, but it's pointless.

It is an easy skill, I have not got it to 99 as there is no real reason for me to do it. If there was an incentive I and others would get it rather quickly.

Well, now... The entire game is "pointless" if firemaking is. I mean, what is it about? To me, it's the total levels and total experience. I don't try convincing myself there's a deeper meaning behind RuneScape.

Because it costs money.

It's not because it's hard or whatsoever. Because you actually LOSE money and you don't make any profit off it.

The word "easy" is very subjective. From those numbers, it can be inferred that thieving is harder than prayer. The relative ease of getting a skill to 99 isn't the only factor which affects the number of people who get said skill to 99.
