The Unofficial Rsbandb Minecraft Server

I'm making a new Minecraft Server for the awesome members of Rsbandb! Joining is easy, all you need to do is follow the steps below and you will be playing in no time.

1. Buy Minecraft at http://www.minecraft.net/ if you don't already have it.

2. Download Hamachi, which will allow you to connect to the server. Follow the link and download the unmanaged mode. https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/download.aspx

3. Once you have it installed send Zilla or me a PM on the forums for the network information.

4. Once you have the network information, you can log in and then connect to the server!

To help keep our server griefer free, u must be a member of the rsbandb forums for at least a month.

EDIT:Ah. My apologies, Mike. I was just wanting to leave a post to allow those who are interested easy access to a PM link. As for Hamachi, It acts as a private network. It also provides it's own IP, so that members can simply look at the Hamachi interface and know what the IP address is for that particular Minecraft Server (though, the IP never changes). A password and username is required to connect to our network. That information will be provided via. PM if anyone whose RSBandB forum account is at least 1 month old.

Zilla, I know you are just posting to confirm what Sxe Ketchup said about PMing you as well, but your post would be viewed as spam by our forum rules. If you could add some more information about your server to your post maybe, that would be great!

I haven't played MineCraft (and don't really plan to) but I am curious as to why Hamachi is needed. Do the servers only operate in LAN mode or is this to get around your server being hosted on a dynamic IP address?

It's not specifically needed, it's most commonly used when people have problems hosting it on their own IP (port forwarding, ect)

As for the server, I may try it out, I'll PM one of you guys later.

Also, I believe Hamachi allows you to restrict who can get on. If you aren't on the Hamachi network and want to try to get on their server, it won't let you.

I might try out the server as well. Just don't forget to backup the map everyday. Just in case...**** happens. [-X

Btw, you guys have a good connection? Quite a few of the Minecraft servers I play on end up lagging a little bit for me. Just hope your guy's connection is better than most.

We do keep copies of the world as far as I know. As for connection; it should be adequate, but may lag from time to time depending on how bad your computer is and how many people are currently on the server. If it proves to be too difficult for Ketchup to host the server, then we may ask another devoted member to take over. Though I haven't discussed this with Ketchup, that is more than likely what would happen in that instance. I personally have a terrible computer, so I can't judge our connection too well.

If anyone wants to join make sure you PM either Ketchup or myself. I don't know about Ketchup, but I check my inbox at least once a day, so you shouldn't have to wait long. I've even set up a hide and seek survival route with a nasty treat at the end on the server.
