Hello all,

Is it possible to trap an NPC? I believe it is, but I can't find any guides on how to do it

Thanks,
Pilot Head

Do you have a specific NPC in mind? It's common to trap the Master Farmer north of Ardo to make pickpocketing easier.

I was training cooking in the rogue's den, and for a while, the banker was right next to the fire. Later, he was in a different spot (farther away from the fire) and a guy that was training fm claimed to move him.

Trapping npcs is pretty much just waiting until they move into a desired location then blocking their exit with a door/gate or sometimes your character/familiar ect. Trapping stuff with your body/familiar doesn't always work though so doors are your best bet

I can remember that you could 'trap' the ZMI-banker. If you'd talk to him and then click on the ground, he would stay at his current spot and not move until you get out of his sight. It might work with the banker in the Rogues Den as well.

I am not exactly sure how it is done, but I know that World 60 Penguin Hunters do a lot of trapping so it's easy to find the weekly penguins. Maybe ask some people standing near a penguin if you are ever hunting them in World 60. I assume those are trapped with a group effort though.

Ya definely world 60 penguin hunters... They trap them with all sorts of contraptions... The pig gate one is a simple one:

But the most common way to trap is to lead NPCs into rooms and close the door.... Easy example:
Theiving guild where you lure a dude into the general store and keep picking him... Much Faster exp (But always use pyramid plunder for theiving :))

I think it's something like if you are on run and you click on the banker but run away toward the fire just after clicking on him and keep repeating that until he moves he will like follow you and then you talk to him where you want him to stop him. or maybe its something like southrend said, when he is where you want him, talk to him and click the ground where you are standing. idk. But something like that will stop him from moving for a while but he always eventually starts moving again.

Depends on what your meaning when you say NPC, it kind of matters.
