Okay, now I'm pretty sure this is going to start an argument, so please don't go TOO far with this
Now as many of you know, I like older music. I think the newest piece of music that isn't a remastered or something like that that I actually listen to is from 2001.

My opinion is that MOST newer music(at least rock) is about being all AQSDAFJKGHASDKFJGHADLKAH@@@212342345 in your ear while older music is obviously quieter(somewhat) and it has more a a meaning.
THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY EXCEPTIONS
What do you guys think?

I was at Barnes and Noble last night and picked up the live Muse CD/DVD, Wembley 2007. If Muse isn't amazing, I don't know what is. (if you hadn't guessed, I'm all about newer age music).

One of my favorite performances off the DVD:

I'm definitely into Older Music as I am a huge Thrash Metal fan... However, today's Death Metal is amazing! ...

I'm totally an oldies fan. Love anything from the 50's onward to the 70's and some of the 80's. Oldies sure has it's place, but I will say that modern and newer stuff is good as well. It's almost like they belong for their time periods respectively. But as for what I listen to the most, my radio dial is always set to the oldies station. :)

I'm a much bigger fan of newer music. I just prefer it, the energy is much higher and music, rock in particular, has come a long a long way since the days of metallica, judas priest, black sabbath and Queen. Although no band will ever be as legendary or amazing as Queen, I still prefer to listen to more modern bands where the music, for me, has just as much meaning but is far more intensely energetic.

I do like older music a lot - but if I had to do the iPod test, i'd say that 95% of it is music from the past 20 years. I'm not a fan of the mainstream - I actually prefer bands that fly under the radar. People that say that modern music is dead just simply haven't found something from this time period that they like.

I like because I simply enjoy the sound of it moreso than older music. I don't really like what's popular though, like Kulla. Most of the songs I listen to have never been played on the radio (ty roonbeest).

I don't think it really matters though. New music will eventually become old music anyway.

Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Supertramp, and Queen take up about 95% of my iPod. New music blows.

Shuffled through 50 songs and 5 were from before 1990 l o l
Hasn't really to do with liking newer music, just I typically collect music of a genre that only started near the 80s

17.6% of library in total is from before 1990

Older music, totally. Most of my iPod is not English, but what is English is from the 50s-80s.

The Who, Beatles, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, etc... ♥

It's less influence from me and more the fact that radio stations don't want to play terrible power metal. XD

On a serious note, almost everything I listen to is newer music. Out of the 587 songs on my iPod, 67 are from the 90's. I don't think I have more than a few songs from years before that. It's not that I have anything against older music, but I just haven't found much outside of the various metal genres that I like.

Almost all the music I listen to is from the past twenty years. It's not all about going AQSDAFJKGHASDKFJGHADLKAH@@@212342345 in your ear, you're just finding the wrong stuff.

I respect older bands, but I just don't really enjoy it too much.
