my anti-hack idea

i came up with this idea bout a month ago, i got some freinds to support it, sent it to jagex, and posted it on rs main forums, now i decided to post it here

pretty much my idea is to have buyable chest with 20 spaces in it, each chest has a combanation or password lock on it (the password wouldent be your rs pass, and considering that u cant hack a password in the game *at least with telnet u cant* or at least i think) but on top of that u can also bury em if u wish, this way each person could store their seldom used valubles in a chest and not have to worry about them being stolen, u have the option to use the chest, if u think ull loose em then dont use them, and its impossible to drop em, u can only sell them empty or bury them, this would elimanate many problems, i think they should only allow players to own 1 or 2, and the 20 spaces are tooken away from your bank so u couldent use em to extend your bank space

I was kind of hoping that something like this would get out with player owned houses, would make sense to have a lockable chest or something there. Very good idea.

good, im glad u liked it, it seems some ppl complain theyll loose it when i said its optional, if they lost it, it would have been their foult lol

it seems like a good idea but this would most likely only be available to P2P and theres always the risk of people forgetting where they buried i and then they would lose their items that way and also the possibility of the person losing their key or forgettingthier password or combination lock. its a good idea but to me it seems like there is too many risks to the people using them

exactly why u dont have to use em, i think p2p should be allowed 2 and f2p should be allowed 1 max imo, and u didnt vote lol

How do you think they keylog the passwords normally? There are so many suggestions like this on the rs forums, but an ingame password is JUST AS EASY TO KEYLOG AS A NORMAL ONE. Keyloggers won't say 'Yes, I'm into the account, better not touch his bank, might just do some wcing'. Having a second password makes NO differance.

Besides, what if something happened and you forgot where you buried it?

Its a quite creative idea but then RS would go into the "Low Bandwidth" lag like heck all the time. Its quite complicated to have like what...200,000 players having their own second indivisual password. Plus, theres always ways for a key logger to know what you are doing INSIDE runescape..i think. If not...ops. :oops:

just 1 flaw though (well a good flaw) it can make an unlimited (well not really unlimited) supply of bank space!!!!!!!!!

Unlimited bank space or storage would cause havok i think. It would obviously do something in the loading times. I have friends with dialup and sometimes it takes 30 seconds for their WHOLE bank to load. Also if i had unlimited i'd even carry a wool of yarn incase it ever turns rare and they make it thread or something.

and i said that each player in p2p can only have 2. and ftf can only have 1, and for each one u have the 20 spaces are tooken away from your bank, so their wouldent be unlimited bank space
