Stay with the current version of phpBB 2.x.x, PhpBB 3 or (Olympus) wont have as much mod support or so i've read as many popular modders refuse to change.

But, well the point is phpbb 3.0 will have almost everything that is needed, and I could try and code up any mods if needed.. I have had experience with coding a few of the mods that the moderators use on this version... even though it will probably totally different on the new version because it is a complete recode.

Yep, I've been having the same dialema, PHPBB version 3 seems to have everything, with some very neat features, friends/ignore list, subforums, so I think, you should wait to see, how Olympus compares to phpbb and monitor it strictly.
