dont know why that would freeze you.
you probably have a virus or spyware or adware

instead of norton try avg its one of the best anti virus programs and its totaly free
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/Get+AVG+FREE/lng/us/tpl/v5

if its spyware try spy bot search and destroy again totaly free
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

if its adware try lavasofts ad-aware free
http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/#free

or u can go with microsofts antispy a combination of ad-aware and spybot but to be safest i would use them all
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/securit ... fault.mspx

of course you can always go with a good firewall zonealarm has a 15 day trial period of the pro edition and then after that its still free its just not as advanced
http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10039 ... tag=button

you can also just use all the programs ive listed here thats what i do.

Spoiler for Everything else:

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.
If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.

AVG Is very annoying but trust me it's extremely good for removing viruses... I hate Norton, it never really removes the viruses. Ive got two virus scanners and AVG is the one that always catches the viruses, the other one, PC-Cillin is useless. Great as a firewall though.
