first off..i want to disavow any thoughts that i might be abit.."iffy"...no offence to anyone that is but i just dont swing that way..and second this is gonna be long..but kinda entertaining
ive heard of many players going out and changing genders for the fun of it..and heard they got more respect when they did.
i got curious.
yeah..i payed a total of 6k to the creepy mage (i had to get a return ticket didnt i?) and i went and changed to a female. my first impression was "what have i been smoking to want to do this..." but i had just finished my "dragon items stat enhancers test" and was feeling..curious. i went and IMMEDIATELY grabed my preist robes because the underclothes i was wearing just did not work. i also contemplated a haircut because it looked like my eyebrows had grown out of control. (i was wearing the dreds) but i decided against because that would be more money to pay later...
so i went and ran a few simple tests. selling items for one. my reasoning: more respect would mean people are nicer to you and would perhaps but something off of you more often, and we all know the pain of bank sales that do not sell well (woah..i could rap). well..that turned out to be a bust. i did meet one fellow who offered to buy "interesting" things off me..but didnt have any reaction when he saw me as a guy the next day. so he really doesnt count in this test. i still got close to no more respect than i do as a male in this game.
my next test was trying to talk to people..once more..nothing was different. i was either called a noob (once or twice) or no difference.
now..we've all heard the bit about how people give items to female players..nope..not this time...even on the free world..i didnt beg because the players i see getting free stuff dont either. and i got nothing..so that myth was busted (fills out a $200 check to discovery channel).
my final test..just for fun, was friend reactions. i med a few people that i rarely see in person, and saw a few others..most of them were "WHAT?!" and "your kidding...no? ...what were you smoking!?" i had one who accually got mad at me! he started out ok.."woah..what did you do?" and i responed like an idiot..."i gave myself ****ies!!!"(direct quote from the chat box in RS) and he walked off. i followed him to explain the testing thing and he responded "dude, your sick! your only doing this so you can get free items! your sick!" he logged before i could explain to him.
yeah..im sorry if ive offended ANYONE. but do remember..it was all in fun..i wasnt trying to offend the ladies who saw me, or even read this post. and i advise against anyone trying to get free items by becomming the opposite gender...it seems any kind of respect in this game died off long ago
