Ok computer freaks, and amateurs, which processor brand do you prefer most and for what reason?. Good reasons please..im mostly talking about newer processor models. like amd 64 fx 51 or 53 and anything like that, also some of the latest intel processors..

In my opinion i like both. I found that intel cpu's worked very well with software, mostly programs such as ms word, photoshop and anything like that..

Amd i think for me works best with gaming and interactive stuff like that. It has "true" 64 bit processing and also much faster front side bus speeds.

Note: im not a computer pro, i know a very large amount about many different areas in computing, just maybe not as much as many people.. anyways, give me your opinions :)

AMD is for gamming  Intel is for office working. I'd have Intel, but some ppl like AMD cause you can overclock it.

Well you can overclock intel's also, but intel lacks fsb speeds i believe. Is amd good with office programs and such?

Also the problem with over clocking is a new cooling system, extra fans wont usually work, you may have to install a water cooling system, or maybe a air flow pipe cooling system

Don't really try overclock intel's, cause I burned one already, well it was only a 933Mhz.

I've found an article, they were estimating that 'Longhorn' would need at least something like 6Ghz CPU... So Intel better start updating..

hmm well i have read articles about intel releasing processors up to 5ghz this year, and 6ghz + next year.. Fastest processor i have seen on the market was in a magazine, was something like 4.4ghz.. But trust me, once you see the cost, you wouldnt buy it. There is also that 1 computer law, where intel or microsoft has to advance there processor speed technology so much every 18months or something like that.. cant remember what it is.

People have reached the 6Ghz limit. They overclocked the 4Ghz you were talking about

hehe yeah i know that, but im talking about soon to come processors at standard 6ghz and then once you over clock, your looking at 7-9ghz maybe.. :) some really fast stuff :) Thats for a single processor motherboard, just imagine 2 of those suckers on 1 motherboard..

hehe yeah there have been for quite some time.. :) Mother boards that run 2 processors at once. But the down fall is less room for member, pci slots, agp slots and so on. 2 processors would be for a hardcore gamer, or maybe if you had your pc set up as some type of ftp server, or some kind of server.
